Who is eligible to file a Chapter 13 case?
Only an individual with regular income, who owes noncontingent, liquidated unsecured debts (such as credit card debt or medical bills) of less than $336,900, and/or noncontingent, liquidated secured debts (such as mortgages or car loans) of less than $1,010,650, may be a Chapter 13 debtor. Individuals who operate businesses as sole proprietors may be a Chapter 13 debtor. Corporations and partnerships cannot file for relief under Chapter 13.
